The Gang Behind the Gang

The Gang Show takes a huge amount of preparation and is a massive project for our volunteers. The show takes approximately 20 months to come to fruition, and that wouldn't be possible without the small army of 100 volunteers who work tirelessly behind the scenes to make everything run smoothly. We have producers, choreographers, sketch writers, make-up artists, dressers, stewards, a wardrobe team, a business team, a backstage crew, a staging and props team, an orchestra, musical directors, and many many more. It really is a team effort, and the show would not be possible without them.
We're on the lookout for volunteers to join our various backstage and rehearsal teams, to help us deliver another fantastic show. Take a look at the roles below and what they entail, and please get in touch if you see a role that you fancy.
Wardrobe
Our wardrobe and costume team are responsible for making sure everyone looks fab-u-lous on stage! They are tasked with maintaining our current repertoire of costumes as well as recycling, sourcing and creating new ones for the show! If you're handy with fashion or a needle and thread, we'd love to hear from you!
Staging
Our staging team are responsible for taking the producer's vision and turning it into a reality. They produce the stage designs and then build, paint and maintain all the props and scenery you see on the stage. They also construct our custom stage bridge which is the centrepiece of our staging. If you're creative or good with DIY, we'd love to hear from you!
Dressers
Our dressers are responsible for ensuring all the cast members are wearing the correct costumes and help with any wardrobe malfunctions before our gang take to the stage. They also help some of our gang with any quick changes they have. This is a smaller role commitment as this role is solely performed during show week.
Stewards
Our stewarding team are responsible for the wellbeing of our gang during rehearsals and show week, to make sure everyone is having a great experience in the show.
Orchestra
Our musical numbers are all performed live by our gang show orchestra. They're usually found in the pit during show week, but they rehearse for months in advance. If you play an instrument, we'd love to hear from you!
Front of House
Our front of house team are the friendly face of our show as the audience arrive. They sell programmes & merchandise and assist with enquiries to make sure everything runs smoothly.
